Krekling is an ash wood chair assembled by the owner using screws and wooden plugs. The chair challenges the standard aesthetics of the furniture industry by highlighting some of their standard materials, planks and machine screws, which typically is concealed. When unpacked, the chair appears as a stack of planks, but when sorted using the construction drawing, each plank's slightly modified shape appears. In this way, the parts are then read as components of a chair. When assembled, the shape of the chair gradually emerges - conveying the process of how the shape is created.

This project aims to find a balance between preserving the original shape and refining the standard materials. This gives the chair a self-made expression, while also creating something soulful and articulated. Krekling has a playful and welcoming character, showcasing how standardised materials can be used to create a distinctive form
